BYP Turns Three!

Hey BYP Network,

Today, BYP turns three years old. I can't quite believe it myself, but what a three years it has been. I first set up BYP out of a lack of seeing myself represented in the industry I was working in, and failing to find ways to connect with like-minded individuals.

Starting off as a founder in my bedroom hosting events, I'm proud to say we're now a huge network of over 40,000 in 65 countries. We have over 550k monthly impressions on our social media, over 12,000 app downloads, 140,000 mobile app interactions and over 16,000 of you reading this very email.

I'm so proud of how far we've come and what we've achieved. From our job board hosting roles from the likes of Netflix and Soho House (from which one of our members just secured a role this week!), to launching a podcast and hosting our first ever Senior Leadership Conference, this year has shown us how necessary this platform is and why it matters.

Our aim for 2020 is to be even bigger and better. We've welcomed new members to our team to help us grow and we're going to be developing our BYP presence across cities in the UK and beyond. It's time to have a local presence in every city around the world.

We are the key to connecting black professionals across the world, and we want to continue to do this. Keep supporting us along this journey and find out how you can get involved below.

Let's keep changing this black narrative together!

We're still looking for BYP leaders. Wherever you're based, we want you to be involved! Read below to find out how you can be a leader and build your own community of young black professionals. All you need to do is send us your CV and a cover letter as to why you'd make a great BYP leader. Email us here.

Want to be a part of the cause but don't see yourself as a BYP leader? Our brand new app is launching, and we want to use this platform to allow black professionals to seamlessly connect with existing groups and niche networks. Whether it's through sharing events or highlighting important opportunities - joining this app will grow your community.

Want to get involved? There's no time like the present! Whether you're a BAME employee network, you have a Black women's reading group, or you're an ACS, this is the primetime to widen your audience and build your base!

Event Update: BYP Cardiff Launch

Last week, we held our first launch in Wales and what a night it was!

We were delighted to welcome Sol Bamba (Cardiff City FC), John Giwa-Amu (Red and Black Films), Kima Otung (Microsoft), Fadhili Maghiya (SSAP | Watch-Africa) and Bernie Davies (Introbiz West Wales). Guests enjoyed nibbles, engaging conversations with like-minded people and fantastic talks from the movers and shakers in Cardiff's community.

A huge congratulations goes to our BYP Cardiff leader, Lynn, who hosted and organised this incredible event. Follow @BYPCardiff for all the latest news and events!
