Safe: Black Men Reclaiming Their Space

Hey BYP Network!

This week, we had a meeting and we got to thinking all about black men and why we don't often hear their voices. Last week, one of our BYP members attended the launch of Safe, an anthology of powerful essays reflecting on the Black British male experience, collated and edited by Mostly Lit podcast host Derek Owusu.

Some of the topics in Safe explore the sexualisation of black men, absent fathers, the power of ethnic names, mental health, sexuality, the ‘blacksistential crisis’, and so much more.

It got us to thinking where can we create more spaces for our black men? That's why we're looking forward to our Friday event in which we'll be revealing some very exciting company news and calling on more ambassadors - men and women - to be a voice for BYP everywhere.

We can't wait to see you all there!
